Round-Up Savings Program Terms
Thank you for your interest in the Round-Up Savings Program! This program helps you save effortlessly by rounding up your everyday debit card transactions to the nearest dollar and transferring the difference into your existing share savings account.
1. Eligibility and Enrollment
The Round-Up Savings Program is available to members with an active debit card linked to a checking account. Enrollment can only be completed via Docusign. Contact the credit union directly to request this service or fill out the form to be contacted by a member of our team.
2. How the Program Works
Round-Up Calculation: Each debit card purchase is rounded up to the nearest dollar. The difference between the transaction amount and the next whole dollar is calculated as the round-up amount.
Posting of Round-Up Amounts: Round-up amounts are authorized alongside the transaction and a debit hold is placed on the total (transaction amount plus round-up). The actual transfer of the round-up amount to your savings account occurs at the time of transaction settlement.
Deposit to Existing Share Account: All round-up amounts will be transferred into your existing share savings account. No new account will be created for this program.
3. Exclusions and Adjustments
Non-Eligible Transactions: The program applies only to Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions. ATM transactions are not eligible for round-up.
Refunded Transactions: If a transaction is refunded, the corresponding round-up amount will not be returned to your checking account.
Insufficient Funds: A calculation is performed to ensure sufficient funds are available for both the transaction and the round-up. If funds are insufficient, only the transaction amount will be processed, and the round-up will not be applied.
4. Multiple Cards and Account Maintenance
Card-Specific Application: The program applies per debit card number. If multiple debit cards are linked to the same account, each card’s transactions will be calculated separately.
Replacement Cards: In the event of a replacement card issue, the member must inform the credit union of the new card number to ensure program continuity.
5. Changes and Termination
You may opt out of the program at any time by contacting the Credit Union. We reserve the right to modify or terminate the Round-Up Savings Program at our discretion. Members will be notified of any changes.
6. Liability and Limitations
The Credit Union is not responsible for any transaction delays or errors outside its control, including those caused by third-party payment processors. The program is designed as a convenience feature and should not replace regular saving habits.
By enrolling in the Round-Up Savings Program, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
