Ruths Story
Wishing many blessings as we celebrate 80 years together.

Ruth Kellogg Credit Union Member
Things felt simpler back then. We’ve grown over the years and now have a second location separate from the plant, but what has always mattered most has never changed.
Being part of this credit union has always been about people. The commitment to our members, and the responsibility of caring for their hard-earned money and trust, has meant everything to me. Knowing that the credit union is owned by its members — by you and me — has always been something I’ve deeply valued.
I take great pride in being a small part of a legacy that began in 1946.
On October 1, 1991, I became a member of the Kellogg Company Employee Federal Credit Union. That same day, I also began working there as a member service representative. It was the start of a chapter in my life I will always be grateful for.
I was fortunate to build friendships that I still cherish today and to truly enjoy coming to work each day. It felt less like a job and more like being part of an extended family. That’s why I chose to remain a part of the family and serve on the board of directors.
Most of the employees at the plant were members of the credit union, and that created a special connection. Whatever the need, we worked together to find solutions as a team. As we grew, new services were added, always shaped by the needs of our members.
One of my favorite memories is seeing how much our members supported the young savers programs. Parents and grandparents contributed, and saving became a family tradition. Establishing these relationships early on means that now I get the joy of seeing 4 generations of members at credit union events.
Looking back, I’m thankful for the relationships, the shared purpose, and the years spent serving people I truly care about.
